Thanks and Giving Some Fingerstyle Updates

  #

Dear Friends of MFGS

Hoping that you are enjoying this Thanksgiving Holiday weekend with family and friends.  We wanted to let you know that MFGS will host 2 or 3 concerts next fall through Trinity House.  We took a little break and appreciate Trinity House hosting a few of our favorite artists while we recharged our batteries.

Let us know who you would like to see next fall by emailing us at michfingerstyle@gmail.com .  We can't guarantee that the artists that you want will be available but we will try and we  always like to hear what you think.   How many of you would like to see us organize another picking party or two?  Do you want workshops before the concerts?   Let us know via email or on Facebook!

So what's up with the fingerstyle music scene these days

MFGS friend Trevor Gordon Hall is touring Italy and has a new CD out that has garnered a lot of great press.  Talking about 'Mind Heart Fingers' Willl Ackerman, Founder of Windham Hill Records says ‚ÄúTrevor takes acoustic solo guitar playing to a new level. I'm listening to his new album Mind Heart Fingers right now. Wow! Beautiful. Astonishing. Inspiring. The original compositions and arrangements are stunning.  I enjoy the brilliant uniqueness of the Kalimbatar pieces. Well done Trevor!"   http://www.trevorgordonhall.com/

Word from Italy is that Pino Forastiere is releasing a new album in January.  Always breaking the trail with his music, we can't wait to hear it!   Stefano Barone is also working on new music and recently toured in Russia.  We will keep you updated!

Candyrat Records has some great stocking stuffers!  100 top tracks on a flash drive featuring 21 Candyrat artists including Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, Andrew White, Calum Graham, Craig D'Andrea, Daniel Voth, Don Ross, Dean Magraw, Ewan Dobson, Gareth Pearson, Hunter Van Larkins, Jimmy Wahlsteen, Kelly Valleau, Mike Dawes, Peter Ciluzzi, Pino Forastiere, Richard Barrett, Sergio Altamura, Stefano Barone, Trevor Gordon Hall, and Van Larkins. Includes 12 bonus Candyrat HD videos. Also some new T-shirts plus a great lineup of artists  CDs to choose from!  www.candyrat.com

Noel Night is coming up on December 6th and a great guitarist friend of MFGS, Nick Schillace performs in Lac La Belle,  an acoustic duo from Detroit with Jennie Knaggs http://www.laclabellemusic.com/store .  They will be performing at Noel Night along with some great music in Downtown Detroit!  Don't miss this! http://midtowndetroitinc.org/events/noel-night/noel-night

Trinity House Theatre is always a great place to hear music and they have a fundraiser for one of their friends Susie Keat who is struggling with some medical bills.  Hey......you can perform that night too!  http://www.trinityhousetheatre.org/posts/promotion/empty-chair-night/

One of our young guitar friends Yeman Al-Rawi entered into the Ernie Ball Prodigy Contest where he can win a trip to Hollywood to record a CD and perform an opening act for one of Andy's concerts.   Yeman opened for Michael Chapdelaine last year and he has a shot at this so take a few moments and go to this spot and vote for him!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rny4BVVXye0

Wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season

Thank You for supporting the artists who create this beautiful music and the venues that allow them to perform!
