Pino Forastiere was born in Latronico, a small village in southern Italy. In 1992 he graduated from Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome with a degree in classical guitar, remarkably using a ten-string classical guitar for his final performance. In the late 1990’s Pino was given a CD of the late American innovative guitarist Michael Hedges. Pino, realizing the possibilities to expand the musical boundaries of the acoustic guitar, converted his playing from the traditional nylon classical guitar to a 6 string steel strung acoustic guitar. Forastiere leaped into the musical landscape with both the precision of his classical training and the inspiration & the seemingly wild abandon that Hedges employed in his music. Today Pino is considered one of the most skilled Fingerstyle guitarists in the world and he has the ability to compose some of the most complex musical arrangements with unparalleled artistry.

Pino will sponsor a guitar workshop the day of the show from 3pm - 5pm. Cost of workshop is $40. Combined concert and workshop cost is $50.
